Desperation
Another tear falls,
another bird calls,
the bird no longer sings,
merely cries for his lost wings,
he sees the others soar,
he feels so poor,
he remembers the days,
long before the cage,
long before the gaze,
long before he had to stay,
he misses the sky, now he wants to die,
through the cage,
he gathers his rage,
gathers his strength,
it seems a short length,
the door opened he jumped,
what was left of his wings he pumped,
but with no wind he fell,
fell to the ground,
fell without a sound,
not free to fly,
but free to die,
free from his cold metal hell.
